Sonoma Starts Season 1-0
Rohnert Park, CA - In hail, heavy rains and wind, the Sonoma Seawolves jumped out to an early lead and never looked back en route to a 21-6 win.
Sonoma struck first with Angelo Lagomarsino putting in an outside shot. The teams would battle penalties in the first quarter which would come to a 4-2 finish. Second quarter mirrored the first with Sonoma State spending time in the penalty box but able to squeak out a 9-4 lead at half.
In the second half, Seawolves cleaned it up and were up 16-6 at the end of three and would hold Claremont scoreless in the fourth to finish 21-6.
The Seawolves were paced in cage by Jackson Feinstein (6 saves, 4GAA), Andrew Moore (6 saves, 2 GAA) and on offense by Hayden Dall (6G, 3A).
"This was a great way to start the season" stated Head Coach Panchito Ojeda. "With the weather and our first game we expected to have some jitters and sloppy play but the men embraced it and really buttoned things up at halftime to take this thing home. Big thanks to Claremont for making the trip north. Class act who competed HARD!"
