Senior Thank You 2021

The Sonoma State men's lacrosse team was not able to participate in the 2021 season due to the pandemic and the restrictions that were implemented by the Cal State system and the County of Sonoma. As a result, the following seniors were unable to play in their final year.

However, the staff wanted to honor and thank these young men for being a part of the program and congratulate them on graduating from SSU.

No. 7 Andrew Moore, Goalie
Andrew came to Sonoma State in 2018 out of Edison High School. He played between the pipes in 35 games during his time at SSU and will be remembered as an athletic keeper with above average speed in the clearing game.

"Andrew was a lot of fun to watch in games where he found his rhythm early," said Sonoma coach Ben Hewitt. "Those were days in which he'd often get better by the quarter, which put his team in the position to be successful."

No. 17 Connor Schaal, Defense
Connor joined the Seawolves in 2017 having come from the Folsom lacrosse program. A starter for the majority of his career at SSU, Schaal played in 36 games. Connor is currently taking emergency medical response classes at SRJC in pursuit of a career in fire fighting or as an EMT.

"Connor is a very passionate young man who played the game hard," said Hewitt. "I expect nothing less from him in his aims of becoming a member of our emergency services community."

No. 38 Andrew Floerke, Defense
After graduating from Casa Grande High School, Andrew came to Sonoma State following two years of playing football at Santa Rosa Junior College. He played in 20 games during his time in Rohnert Park. A fierce competitor and physical presence, Andrew played the game at a high intensity level every time he stepped on the field.

"Having gotten to coach Andrew in high school, it was a special experience getting to work with him at the college level," said Hewitt. "He is as hardworking as they come and a tremendous teammate."

No. 4 Hayden Dall, Midfield
Hayden joined the Sonoma State program in 2018 after a very impressive career at Oak Ridge High School. He played a total of 36 games at SSU, earning second team all-conference midfield in both 2019 and 2020.

"Hayden is a very talented player and his late game heroics with teammate Joey Piombo were fantastic to watch," said Hewitt.

Hayden will be graduating this fall and says that he is looking forward to joining the working world as soon as possible.

No. 16 Ryan Hampton, Defense
Ryan arrived in Rohnert Park in 2018 after a successful career at Newbury High School. He played in 36 games for the Seawolves and was a starter for the majority of his time with the program. Hampton also served as the Team President in 2019-20 and stayed on to help the program through the fall of 2020 despite graduating later that semester.

"Ryan gave so much effort and energy to the club both on and off the field of play. He loves Sonoma Lacrosse and that was expressed through his work ethic as an officer and a player in everything that he did."

No. 23 Kyle Jordan, SSDM
Kyle came to Sonoma State in the fall of 2019 under special circumstances. A U.S. military veteran with tours in the Middle East, Jordan was an active member of the Marin County Sheriff 's Department while balancing school work, lacrosse, and a family.

"Kyle represents the best of what the SSU program is about. This is a man who is humble, accountable, and operates with the highest level of integrity a coach could ask for. It was an honor to get to work with him."

No. 34 Philippe Devarenne, FOS
Philippe joined the SSU program in 2019 after transferring from the University of Nevada. Originally out of Casa Grande High School, Devarenne played in 35 games during his college career. Known for his love of the X and his passion for the art of the face off, Philippe was a tireless worker for the Seawolves.

"Philippe has always been a player who is willing to do anything he can to help his team win and his selflessness is infectious in the best way possible."

No. 11 Jackson Feinstein, Goalie
Jackson came to SSU from Oakland Tech High School playing his first season in Rohnert Park in 2018. During his time with the Seawolves he played in 34 games serving as the starting goaltender for a large number of them.

"Jackson brought a great sense of humor to our team and was a guy you enjoyed seeing every time he walked out to practice."
